Pest Free Hibiscus Coast Volunteer Resources

Health and Safety
Although we know you are great at keeping yourselves safe in the bush, things happen and we do need you to keep reporting all injuries and near misses via our Health & Safety reporting system. Below are the details of the new system, so please read it and check out the links.
As always, in the first instance please report any injuries or near misses to Rhiannon (Volunteer Coordinator) before completing the form.
You might think that near misses aren’t important, but if there is something that happens regularly, or something that can simple be fixed by moving a trap, adding a rope or changing a route then we will take action – our priority is keeping all volunteers safe. H&S reporting also includes cuts and scrapes, slips and falls whether treatment is required or not – we are generally more concerned if there are never any reports! All volunteers must carry a phone and personal first aid kit when doing your lines, and wear a hi-vis vest.
Need to know:
The new system is called EcoPortal and completing a form is very quick. Your data is securely stored and the completed form in only visible to Jenny and Forest & Bird’s H&S Adviser Paul Barnett. Any follow up will come via Jenny or Rhiannon if needed.
You access ecoPortal here: https://www.ecoportal.com/ then click “Log in” at the top right of the web page.
All volunteers will share the following log in and password:
Log in email: pfhckiosk@forestandbird.org.nz
Password: Kiosk02
You will then see a menu which includes Incidents, select new and complete the form.
